Seaside 2012

We love Seaside.  We go there every summer and spend a few days on the beach, on Broadway-playing all of the games, walking through the shops, and eating at Pig n' Pancake.  Sounds totally ghetto but great breakfast restaurant.

 We always stop at the Pirate's Cove on our way into town.  It's a little restaurant/gift shop just outside Seaside.  Although, the gift shop part must not have been doing too well because this year they had cut out about 90% of the gift shop to expand the restaurant.  It was really more like a gift counter now.  The kids love getting their pictures taken in these cutouts that sit on the front porch.  Just being silly-they switched sides this year :)

 Not to be outdone, Colton was determined to get in mix.  Makes a cute looking pirate-don't ya think?  Brody was holding him up from the back.  Thanks big brother.

 We certainly didn't know what kind of weather to expect.  Although we'd been pouring over the weather channel daily, the forecast was always pretty iffy.  Partly cloudy, partly sunny can go either way around here and usually seems to trend toward the partly cloudy bit.  However, we were thrilled to see this weather when we pulled into Seaside Sunday afternoon.  So glad it was nice our first day because the weather went downhill from Monday on and we drove out to rain on Tuesday.  Beautiful shot of the beach.

 We saw this street performer, he called himself "the tin man"  He was pretty cool and the kids loved having their picture taken with him.

 We always go to the bumper cars several times during our stay. Brody was more than thrilled that this year he was tall enough to drive by himself!  I was waiting out with Colton watching when I heard a lady next to me talking.  She said "look at that little boy in the orange car!  He really knows what he's doing!"  I have to say, he really did.  I guess all of those years under Bryce's tutalege produced a great bumper car driver.

 Colton also rode the carousel this year.  He LOVED it!  Kelsi is still a rider and Brody wouldn't be caught dead on it.

 Check it.  Sometimes Brody surprises me with his quirky humor.  He stuck his head right in this shark's mouth and had us laughing.  But it turned out to be an awesome photo!

 The Funland Arcade is always a super hot spot.  Colton was WAY into it this year. He especially loved the motorcycle rides and I especially loved that we never had to pay for a game.  He is thrilled just to watch the demo.  Kelsi and Brody are regular little arcaders now and we are all addicted to this rolling ball game thing in the last picture. 

 Here we all are spending Kelsi's last .$25 on game where you use a claw to grab candy.  The arcade is seriously the best $20 we spend at Seaside and everyone is so happy.

 Here we are, in all of our silliness.  This is the rolling ball game I was saying we are addicted to.  Roll the balls into the holes, first person to hit all the holes (which light up when the ball goes through) wins 900 tickets.  We never won, but we were fierce competition.  Even Colton played!
