The next day we drove over to Port Townsend to visit the Fort Worden State Park before heading back home. I guess their claim to fame is that the movie An Officer and a Gentleman with Richard Gere was filmed in the town and on this old army base like 20 years ago. We drove through the base and came down to this old fort along the beach. It was creepy, but cool. From the beach you can't even see it, then you get up on the hill and it's huge-like 3 or so stories of cement/artiliary set up. Very well hidden.
The kids and us climbed all through it and took several pictures. Then we went down to the beach and walked along the shoreline. It was beautiful and we had such a nice time.
